FOREVER TWENTY

"Kilian Martin is the skater I’ve been waiting for – Forover twenty years.
Hailing from Madrid, Spain, Kilian has gathered up his influences and inspirations, and then taking from the best of them – Unchained himself from tradition and any social justification – Completely reinterpreting skateboarding on his own terms.More so than method, Kilian trusts in himself – His body, his spirit and his skateboard are one."

THE KING'S RING

The Miami Heat have won this year's NBA title, so we feel it's time to Celebrate one of America's most disliked and influential athletes: they called him Akron Hammer, L-Train, The Choosen One, and even King. All we know is that his name is Lebron James, and he's the most dominant basketball player of the last years.
Let's go way back to the days of Akron afros and high school dunks. The long road to that ring proves that even those destined for greatness have to earn it.

At the conclusion of the season, James was named league MVP for the third time, finishing with averages of 27.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game on 53 percent shooting. In the playoffs game 4 agaist Indiana, James turned in one of the best all-around performances of his career, registering 40 points, 18 rebounds, and 9 assists in a winning effort on the road.
In the "do or die" game 5 in the Finals, James registered his only triple-double of the season with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists as Miami defeated Oklahoma City for their second ever championship and James' first championship. He was named the Finals MVP with averages of 28.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. His postseason totals were 30.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.

THE ART OF FLAT

If you think that skateboarding is all about rails and ramps, you're wrong. Flatland is where this sport was born: just you, your board, your shoes and the good ol' ground. Than one summer pepole dropped into empty pools and some hairy dude eventually got airborne. When they got back on the streets the ollie suddenly became part of the game, endless new possibilities were just ahead.
Enjoy the flip insanity filmed at 1,000 frames per second with a Redlake N3 high speed camera.

Since skateboarding trick names are defined by common usage and these tricks are not very common, some of them don't have well-established names. So here are my best guesses as to what they should be called:
  • Kyle McPherson -- nollie dolphin flip (AKA nollie forward flip)
  • Cameron Carmichael -- backside 180 casper flip (?) (or bs 180 hospital flip)
  • Jerrod Skorupski -- nollie heelflip bs body varial
  • David Case - nollie 360 shuv underflip (AKA nerd flip)
  • David Case - frontside shuv underflip (AKA kiwi flip)
  • Dustin Blauvelt - hardflip pretzel
  • Dustin Blauvelt - Merlin twist (switch front foot impossible fs 180)
  • Dustin Blauvelt - nollie heelflip indy grab
  • Shane Anderson - early grab frontside 180 fingerflip (?)
  • Jovan Pierson - pressure hardflip (?)
  • Jovan Pierson - ?? I don't know what this is, I just call it a Jovan flip
  • Erick Schaefer - backside pop shuv underflip
  • Tim Hamp - Nollie pressure hardflip (?)

STAR-SPANGLED

Get some starlight and witness some quality slo-mo action from Orlando, where the 2012 NBA All Star week-end just took place.
Every year the All Star Game doesn't just entertain the entire world but it also gives us a good hint about who's probably going to rule the second part of the season and the playoffs. I think after last frustrating defeat in the finals it's finally the time to shine for Miami.

GRANT TAYLOR #1

Atlanta's son Grant Taylor is what you call an all around skater, and that's pure old school by itself. At 21 he already skates and destroys everything in goofy stance -and in good ol'fashion-. This is why Trasher Magazine awarded him with the title of skater of the year 2011. In case you don't trust nobody you may need to check out the content below.

SPARE TIME ACTION

The new Forum Snowboards' video is dropping on October 18th and it's named Vacation. Even if the mighty John Jackson won't be in this one due to an injury, you can still expect some rad shredding from both veterans and youngbloods.
Crack open a cold one, or kick-start the blender and fire up that Piña Colada — it’s time to celebrate! Forum is proud to announce the newest installment in their vast library of team-inspired videos. After winning back-to-back awards for Forever and Fuck It, a little team Vacation was long overdue. This last season was all about taking advantage of traveling on someone else’s dime, and focusing more on good times than hard work. Ironically, when the pressure went down, the progression of snowboarding went up ... way up.

Australian big wave surfer and adventure athlete Mark Visser is probably a member of the X-men family. He just shocks the world as he continues to break the boundaries of Big Wave surfing, this time by jumping from a plane into massivestorm swells in the middle of the open ocean to surf what has never been accomplished. With the help of satellite technology and a group of scientists, Visser is in search for the next big thing that of which all big wave surfers dream about - the 100ft wave.

BURNING HOOPS

The new Nba Jam is one of the best reboots in the history of gaming. It's like they used some sort of magic spell that makes it playable on a daily basis for ten years without getting tired of it. But it seems at EA Sports they don't care about this, as they decided to release an even better one called Nba Jam On Fire Edition.
Basically it's an improved version with more crazy moves, more efficient artificial intelligence, team fire, online features, and -of course- updated rosters. Everybody razzle dazzle!

THE MANSOUR SHOW

There's a tennis player who based his entire professional career on the what's the real engine of sports, the fans, entertaining them with unhuman trick shots and crazy comedic moments. His name is Mansour Bahrami.
As a child he worked as a ball boy, and unable to afford a racket of his own improvised with frying pans, and broom handles to teach himself the game. His progress was brought to an abrupt halt when the Islamic Revolution led to the banning of professional sport in Iran. He set off for France with his life savings, which he gambled in a casino and lost!
Now aged 30 he had missed his chance to make his mark on the professional game but still managed to reach the Finals of the French Open Doubles in 1989. Bahrami reluctantly withdrew from the circuit in the early 90s and when the Champions Tour came into being in 1993, Mansour had found his calling. He now spends over 40 weeks of the year playing in tournaments and exhibitions around the world.
