FILES IN THE HOLE

Are you using the Tor onion routing system and you are still paranoid about the security of your connection? Then you may consider to go for ‘Dead Drops’ the most underground network on this planet.
Dead Drops is an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space.
USB flash drives are embedded into walls, buildings and curbs accessible to anybody in public space. Everyone is invited to drop or find files on a dead drop. Plug your laptop to a wall, house or pole to share your favorite files and data. Each dead drop is installed empty except a readme.txt file explaining the project.
Dead Drops is open to participation. If you want to install a dead drop in your city/neighborhood follow the ‘how to’ instructions and submit the location and pictures.

LIVING SHADOW

The guys at Billboard always bring us juicy exclusive contants, and a few things are more amazing than sitting at Mophonics Studio in New York with Brooklyn's homeboys Twin Shadow. The indie-pop act did not disappoint, performing a few tracks and speaking on the group's success to date. Light, airy synths from Wynne Bennett wafted in and out of George Lewis Jr.'s new wave-inspired vocals and guitar, while bassist Russ Manning picked his way through grooving basslines and drummer Andy Bauer kept the pulsing beat.

BLOODY GAMES

"Dinner" by NY sensation Blood Orange talks about a broken heart in such a touching intimate way it's so easy to recognize yourself in it. Available on 7inch via Terrible Records, this is release number six for this ultra hot label who have released gems by Arthur Russell, CANT, Class Actress, Acrylics and Twin Shadow.
Recorded and produced By Devonté Hynes & Chris Taylor, the melancholic playground video directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz adds even more heartwarming feelings to the gorgeous vibe.

Always on your own, don’t consider trying.
I tried you on the phone, but you considered lying.
Never had a doubt i’m losing.
So I’m tidying my room and trying to be careful,
Drinking in the afternoon and lighting up whilst tearful..

Hoping that you’re still unhappy.
I’ll do everything I can to make sure that you are never happy.

Breaking out of this cocoon and clawing a the camera
Seeing you would be too soon, I’m stupid if I want more.
Hoping that you die unhappy
i’ll do anything i can, to make sure that you are never happy.

Never had a doubt I’m losing.

So unsure of every question in the dark, trying hard not to make of with anything you gave me.
I’m so scared and down on friends so please pretend there is no end.
Trying not to be a victim in your game, know your dirty ways and know you feel the same, it kills me deep inside, i hope you cry when you see what you have inside.

Never had a doubt I’m losing.
I’ll do everything I can, to make sure that you are never happy.

STUDIO LIFE

By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan's Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month. She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot microstudio. After a bit of adjustment she now loves living smaller, simpler and cozier.
“I think a lot of people have a lot of space that they’re not using. I grew up in a place where my bedroom was 17 feet by 17 feet with two walk-in closets that combined where almost the size of this apartment that when I go home now I go in the closet just to feel like I’m back in New York.”

TIME SQUARE BOYS

Even if unfortuately this is not the 70's, besides all the lights and the glitz, bottom line is that Time Square still is a filthy cocktail of unhortodox behaviors.
You may hate it of love it, but that's just the way it gets when you mix up all kind of human beings in one place.

From the author:
New York is such a bizarre experiment of humanity. Every single type of person to ever walk this world lives there, from batshit crazy to billionaire and everything in between. Some would be quick to judge it as a crazy, chaotic and generally intolerable place to live, but there is truly something to love about it, which many can't quite explain.

NY MINUTE #3

Nuova York.

Staten Island, home of 8,000 Liberian immigrants,
might have the largest concentration of child soldiers in North America. US citizens used to see these kids on CNN -carrying a Teddy bear in one hand and an AK-47 in the other- during the Liberian civil war.
Ten years later, they observe this lost generation out their window.
This story has no heroes, only survivors.

“Live fast, die young“...

In New York the ride is wild on the road to riches… And no one embody that way of life better than the Ruff Ryders crew from the Bronx : talents who go from broke-to-multi-millionaire-to- bankrupt, dare-devil Bikers, hustlers who try to make it happen livin’ the Illegal Life like Mysonne…

There’s only one rule to this game: live fast and die in another New York minute.

NY MINUTE #2

Ecco altri due episodi (il terzo e il quarto) del documentario su New York fatto a mo di miniserie prodotto da Arte. A breve le ultime due puntate.
E visto che ci siamo, happy Thanksgiving Day.

New York is an universal magnet.
And Queens, with its two airports, is the American Dream's waiting room. Next to Flushing Meadow Park's Unisphere, at the end of Roosevelt Avenue –the most cosmopolitan thoroughfare of the city-, there’s Willets Point, a place where the World meets with hundreds of ghostworkers from the Junkyard.
An inspirational blend for Deejay Mista Sinista.

What goes up must come down. Everyone knows that, especially if you are from Uptown, Harlem.
G Dep was the talk of the town when he joined Puff Daddy in 1999. But he felt in love with the Night Nurse… 8 years after his meeting with the Hip Hop mogul, he was arrested for breaking a display model mobile phone and spent a year on Rikers Island, without anyone showing up with his $750 bail.
Sometimes the night seems endless on Allerton Ave.

TH?NK P?NK

"Ready", a CD pusher, just got killed by a plain clothes cop
from an unit specialized in... watching CD peddlers in the midtown area.
Squala Orphan also sells his own production on the Deuce.
We got him to share the insomnia of the Midnight Marauder with us

E il secondo: The Magic Number
"Joell Ortiz, it's me, Mike and Dennis".
An ex-con collecting muscle cars, a producer from haitian descent and a MC with no stage name remix the Holy Trinity live from Brooklyn... Holy sh*t !
Since those 3 got back together, each one lives in his own timezone. A paradox that works magic since Joell is on heavy rotation in the city's biggest radio stations.
How to get to the top without going anywhere.
