CINEMART

Brazilian genius Fernando Degrossi blends art and cinema with a nice pinch of humor.
I wonder where he gets such wicked inspirations from.

HOTBOARDS

Carving on a longboard is already a super cool thing by itself, but it gets dope when the Longboard Girls Crew goes downhill on the Madrid mountains.

We gave them the mouse as their blank canvas and let them unleash their artistic style."

WHAT A WOMAN

"It's Automatic" by british masters Zoot Woman (Adam Blake, Johnny Blake and Stuart Price) is one of the smoothest tunes ever made by man, but since it came out in 2001 it's never been properly revisited. Today Paper Faces, that basically is Zoot Woman's remix department, came out with this gorgeous fresh mix. Made my day again.

HOT CREAM

Ever since back in the '50s, France has been a fertile ground for genuinely out-there (and oftentimes well-dressed) pop music that came forward from the margins and ended up moving the rebels and the bourgeoisie alike.
This mix - conceived and tracklisted by Record Makers' very own universal genius Sébastien Tellier for RBMA Radio's monthly 'Crème Brûlée' show - pays tribute to this heritage, with timeless cuts from some of the country's all-time greats.

CUBIC FRACTALISM

Etienne de Crécy has been using the geometric shape of the cube as a central feature of his scenography since 2007. Fleur & Manu are taking the concept even further directing the mind blowing music video of "No Brain", which is based uniquely on the cube shape and instilling a notably psychedelic 90's vibe.
It's produced by Division, the paris based company who also made the unforgettable Sébastien Tellier's "Look" video, this crazy visual experience was realized by Mathematic using Maya, and it will soon be available in stereoscopic 3D.

SON OF A PREACHER MAN

Stephan Doitschinoff (aka Calma) is a self-taught artist based in Bahia and São Paulo, Brazil. As the son of an Evangelical minister, Stephan spent his entire childhood absorbing the visual vocabulary of religious art. As an artist, he has developed his own unique language and style through imagery which creatively combines Afro-Brazilian folklore with Baroque religious iconography, as well as Alchemic and Pagan symbolism.
Stephan’s street alias, Calma (Portuguese for: Calm) is also a shortened version of con alma (Latin for: with soul). He has exhibited in museums and galleries in the US, Brazil, and Europe.

From the artist: “I personally see the church as an archaic institution that always aimed to control the masses. I think it is an appropriate symbol for corrupt modern institutions like big corporations, media channels, and governments.”
Down below you can watch Temporal, a short documentary about him travelling throughout the Brazilian countryside of Bahia, painting murals where you won't expect to see street art.

SNEAKERS WONDERLAND

One of the most appreciated footwear by street dancer in the nintees is now back in a two limited edition colorways inspired by The Adventures Of Alice In Wonderland. White Rabbit's clock gearings, Queen Of Hearts' killer roses and Mad Hatter's chessboard melts all togheter in a flashy baroque pattern which makes these Reebok City Jam a nice psichedelic entry on your collection.

SOULBOARDING

Do you think snowboarding has gone a lil' bit too far? Well, by watching superstar riders making circus style triple corks and posing like gangstas in front of the cameras that's exactly what it feels like.
Fortunately the guys form Grindhouse are a lil bit different. This is not an old school vs new school thing, it's simply how this sport is meant to be. The real essence of riding.

The hippie vibe is Venus In Furs by The Velvet Underground.

DECADES RUNNING

The brand new video from swedish-american trio Thieves Like Us is way too classy for this world. The groove is so moody and the lyrics so enchanting you just won't stop looplistening. Your Love Runs Still is also the title of their last four tracks EP, out on Brooklyn's label Captured Tracks.

Staring at the wall.
My thoughts drift outside the window.
When did life begin?
You cannot remember.
/
Blessed be the day --that we get our act together.
Staring at the wall --another forever.
/
You look and find a sacred will/
Your love runs still, your love runs still/
Cruising through life without a guide/
Your love runs still, your love runs still/
As you clear your head, papers drift in through the window.
Finally a change --the decade is over
/
Stepped into a trap.
Don't you know that life is lethal?
As you cry for help --you're happy remember?
/
Your love runs still.

THE BEAT GOES ON

We usually don't do things like this, but today one of our childhood heroes is gone, and we have to pay tribute to him.
In the 80's he was the coolest guy in the world, his speeches were insanely hilarious and his sunglasses came from outter space.
He is Macho Man Randy Savage. Thanks for the thrill ride, brotha.

RAISE OF THE MACHINES

Fashinating and scary at the same time, these incredible animatronic machines were made by John Nolan.
The bass loaded soundtrack is "Medusa's path" from the album Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned (2004) by The Prodigy.

HEY YOU DEEJAY!

Today it's sunny and i'm feeling funky. It's the perfect day to introduce to you A.U. Mix DJ, a black music pioneer from northern Italy. The man is on the scene since 1983, and he's still bringing it with burning passion. This is real stuff, no computers, mp3s, final scratch or any other farces. This is all about good ol'fashion vinyl mania.

BLINKING IN THE DARK

French artist OakOak has an endless imagination. He likes to play with any sort of urban element, and this time he had fun with a crossing light. Blinking all day in a tiny dark room must be really boring.

A BADGE AND A GUN

The long time collaboration between the law enforcements and those fools form Bakerboys bring us the third episode of the Low Life Tour. This time they hit some real underground spots.

FAST & FURIOUS

Skiller is 20 years old and he's from Sofia, Bulgaria. His unhuman skills and style gave him the title of the fastest beatboxer from Europe. Beatboxing is usually about hip hop beats, but this skinny guy goes for any kind of music, from techno to d&b to raggamuffin... and if that's not enough he can sing too. Shout out to Beatbox Battle TV for supporting and pushing people like this.

BACKSPIN

In a time where land-line phones are a dying breed, the concept of an old rotary phone is kind of poetic. That's must be what the designers at Sagemcom thought when they came up with this ultra stylish tribute to the iconic Bell's model, witch casually got named "Sixty".
This oldschool boy is a DECT cordless phone, with a touch dial and a white-on-black LCD dot-matrix screen for Caller ID, time and speed dial info. It even has a 150 number phonebook built in, a digital answering machine, and it offers a speakerphone mode too. But it's the vintage factor that counts here, so what really hooks me up is that it makes those old clicky sounds when you press the buttons, while little led dots around the dial simulate the spin.

HONOR THE FALLEN

Back in the days being a gamer was a real struggle, but we never gave up.
Honor to the many millions of POW/MIA sprites who gave their lifes for our entertainment. We will never forget.

That sick madworld chiptune mod is by Rob Beschizza and it's called -guess what- Chipworld.
It' so moody that Here you can have it in two different octaves. No, it's not a joke.

NATURAL FUTURIMS

"Josh Keyes' style is reminiscent of the diagrammatic vocabulary found in scientific textbook illustrations that often express through a detached and clinical viewpoint an empirical representation of the natural world.
Assembled into this virtual stage set are references to contemporary events along with images and themes from his personal mythology. Josh Keyes' work is a hybrid of eco-surrealism and dystopian folktales that express a concern for our time and the Earth's future."
