CABLE TRIP

Welcome to the beautiful world of Proun, an impressive racing game with a deep visionary environment of geometric objects, caleidoscopic rotations and colorful landscapes. The concept of Proun it's not really new-blown, I believe the first time we've seen something similar was on F-Zero X, but its development is simply state of the art; you don't crash into your opponents neither into walls, here you just avoid obstacles by rotating around a cable in order to gain as much speed as possible.
The retail price of it? It's up to you, this is not a game made for making cash. You can download it for free or you can give how much you think could be fair.
You may be wondering where such a thing comes from. This is straight out from The Netherlands, as dutch is also Igorsky, the author of the enchanting ambient music on the background.

VALUE ART

Last year, artist James Charles has been engrossed in an interesting new project; small in
scale...but large in depth. He began drawing on dollar bills, for the sake of his own amusement; crudely altering the presidents’ faces to become monsters, celebrities, etc. After accidentally spending a few of his early pieces, James decided to stop carrying them in his wallet, and started putting them inside of a magazine for safe-keeping.
The magazine folder eventually became a large scrapbook, showcasing bills of all denominations. He found ink and materials to match perfectly what the U.S. Mint uses on the bank notes, and began to experiment with ways to alter the font and script along the bottom of the bills. It became the perfect way for James to inject an additional layer of wit.
Altering currency in this way also poses questions regarding the true value of paper bills, something made with seemingly insignificant materials – that somehow fuels our country’s ever- shifting economy, and ultimately impacts living conditions around the globe. James has put a wrench in the recirculation process by claiming his role as an artist, and declaring these specific bills are not currency, but art objects.

MOCCASIN LOVER

The Always entertaining Nowness platform brought us The Shoe, a little masterpiece of photoghrapy and music directed by André Saraiva. The French cultural provocateur collaborated with luxury footwear brand J.M. Weston for his debut as director, in which actor Leo Fitzpatrick plays a guileless thief whose material weaknesses trigger karmic repercussions. “The shoe thing was a reference to when I was a kid in the 80s; people used to steal expensive cool loafers,” Saraiva explains. “In America they used to steal your Air Jordans; in France they would steal J.M. Westons”.
For the soundtrack, Kitsuné chief Gildas Loaëc curated an indie setlist featuring The Virgins, Is Tropical and Vandaveer, among others.

URBAN COWBOY

Born in England and raised in Thailand, Hugo is the living proof that - as Hank Williams Jr. says - a country boy can survive, no matter where or what.
There’s an aura of late night heat and mystery in his music. His debut album Old Tyme Religion is quite an unconventional record, a mixture of styles and influences in which Hugo puts a tremendous country twist on the classic "99 Problems" as a tribute to the none other than Roc Nation founder Jay Z

DRUID DREAMS

Isaac Mills is a digital artist from the east coast of Canada who signs his wicked visionary artworks as Mugwort. Mugwort artemisia plants were used by ancients for lucid dreaming and astral projection, and nowadays he goes in that same direction on Photoshop and Illustrator, driving us into ancestral depths and shamanic symbolism.

We already knew that Deep88's sound knowledge is unlimited, no wonder his last dj set is so terribly smooth and catchy at the same time. Talking about needs, if you are a vinyl collector you probably would be happy to know that the lovely Disco Dub version of Italo82 (which is the third track of this mixtape) is coming out very soon on a nice 33"under 12Records.

NO KIDDING!

You already know it, the Dallas Mavericks have won the first NBA title in the history of thefranchise. As this was not epic enough, this is also the first trophy for Jason Kidd and Dirk Novitzky, two of the most dominant players of the last decade, two future hall of famers who played their entire career in the same team, refusing to be mercenaries but choosing to become heroes for their town, their fans and their teammates. Like great players used to do back in the days, and like Lebron should have done.

FANTASTICBOT

By listening to Breakbot's new summer anthem "Fantasy" it seems like Quincy Jones started to hang out with the Ed Banger guys... which is a lil' hard to imagine but so freaking good to my ears.
Self titled ep coming out on the 20th of June. Gorgeous video directed by Tony Frontal.

iMAGIC

Forget traditional magicians. Techno-Illusionist Marco Tempest brought the art of visual deception to the next level, blending new digital technologies -such as projection mapping and augmented reality- and magic to bring audiences a glimpse of the future before technology gets there.
In his latest trick he uses three iPods touch. Pure poetry.

CANDY SHOES

Collaborations are always a cool thing, and the crazier they are the sweeter it gets. That's the case of danish sneaker company Hummel teaming up with german candy maker Haribo for a three high top sneakers collection. It pays homage to three of the most iconic candies to come from the brand – ‘Rotella’ licorice rolls, ‘Piratos’ licorice and of course the world famous ‘Gummy Bears’.

HOW WE SHOULD ROLL

First of all a huge thank you to our big friend Fresh Big Mouf for this very precious hint.
This is not just good hip hop music, this is an injection of positive energy and love. Mista Cookie Jar is a children's music performer/multi-instrumentalist/music & video producer extraordinaire. With his family band, Mista Cookie Jar & the Chocolate Chips, they've toured all over the US promoting their blend of Urban Island Folky Rock and Roll for the Inner Child. He performs weekly at numerous Los Angeles elementary schools as part of Star Education's W.I.M. (Wonder Imagination Magic) Program. That's how he met LA teacher Mr. Valdez & his class and together started producing their year-long music project, "Room 28 (That's How We Roll)."
The song, which you can download here for free, features all 28 students of the classroom as well as Mr. V on the M-I-C. Both the song and video were crafted together as a class with Mr. Valdez and Mista Cookie Jar every Tuesday in the 2010 to 11 school year.
Now you can continue to listen to gangstas shooting and hustling around, while we go for kids with a big smile of their face. Music is not just about nodding heads, it's also one of the strongest and fastest way to get into people's mind, especially if they're youngsters. Positive music and good education goes together in order to create a better future. That's how we all should roll.

SCHOOLBUS BONUS: Behind the scenes look at the making of the video, this 13 minute mini-documentary takes a closer look at the classroom spirit of the 4th grade students of Room 28 and their beloved teacher, Mr. Valdez.

CUTTING PIPES

What began as a 22-foot tall, 550-foot long halfpipe turned into a meticulously cut, one-of-a-kind cubed pipe with a series of take-off and landing areas.
With nothing in between, the pipe begs Dumont's world famous big airs and tricks to rise to a new level.

SHIBUYA CROSSING

Born in Yokohama, Tadaomi Shibuya has a background in Product Design, gained from Tama Art University, Tokyo.
Citing influences such as Hip Hop culture, graffiti and classic Anime and Manga animations, Shibuya has evolved a style with a distinctly urban, si-fi, mechanical, feel. From tigers to stag beetles, perfect symmetry is found Shibuya’s many animal graphics and portraits, while his purely abstract works explore the raw elements of his forms where the imagination attempts to navigate indecipherable mazes.
